While there are no West Virginia published records for this species, it has been collected in numerous locations near West Virginia, in Ohio, Virginia, and Maryland.
The hopper shown here was photographed in West Virginia on 1 May 2007.
The markings may be yellow (especially in recently molted adults), orange, or red.
