Eratoneura stoveri is a species associated primarily with Mockernut Hickory and possibly other Hickory species.
The heart of its range appears to be the Mississippi and Ohio River valleys, with (for example) many records from Mississippi and Tennessee.
As with so many species of Eratoneura and Erythroneura, this species cannot be positively identified by markings alone; genitalic characters must be examined for a reasonably certain identification.
