The vertex and scutellum are yellowish with black markings. The pronotum is black at the front and yellowish at the rear.
In West Virginia, adults aren't typically seen before June, but they may be observed on into early Autumn.
Amblysellus curtisii is a common species in West Virginia and seems to feed on grasses.
