The range of Limonia (Metalimnobia) immatura extends from British Columbia to Wisconsin and Maine, and south to Florida.
Look for this species on the wing in late Spring, and again in late summer. Adults typically are found in low vegetation near a stream.
Dr. Chen Young, Crane Fly expert at the Carnegie Museum of Natural History, notes that one of the key trait of this species is the presence of three dark rings on the femora.
