Length: 3-4 mm

 

Both the adult and larval Tritoma may be found on mushrooms. The larvae develop rapidly, taking only two weeks after hatching to reach the pupal stage.

Tritoma humeralis is a small, oval beetle with a squarish red spot on each elytron. The pronotum is sparsely punctate, and the elytra have punctate striae. The antennae have a dark club.
