Dillon and Dillon, in their Manual of Common Beetles of Eastern North America, note that "In early Spring this species occurs in numbers about the base of skunk cabbage and on leaves of various shrubs."

This is one of the smaller Lady Beetles encountered in West Virginia. The one shown here was photographed along the Elk River.
