This Water Penny Beetle was photographed near Seneca Rocks, where it was in a group of several of the same species. The beetles were perched on a rock that was dry on most of its surface, but with a corner that was completely under whitewater. The beetles walked nonchalantly from the dry side into the pounding whitewater, never losing their footing.
