Right: the Rhubarb Weevil, Lixus concavus. This black beetle usually does not appear black; it is covered with both a short gray pubescence and an orange bloom. The antennae are dark and have light gray capitate tips. The rostrum is black and punctate. The pronotum is depressed at center, and this depression continues onto the elytra. The sides of the elytra are parallel toward the front and tapered at the rear. The elytra have regular rows of punctures.
