Gaurotes cyanipennis features a dark head and pronotum, with yellow-brown legs and antennae. The elytra are much wider at base than is the pronotum. The elytra are metallic blue or violet with a punctate surface.
The larvae feed under the bark of various hardwoods. Adults may be found on flowers early in the summer.
Right: The legs of Guarotes cyanipennis are yellowish to light brown. The elytra may be bluish-green to purple.
