July and August seem to be the peak months for adults of Systena.
Clark (2000) lists six species of Systena that live in West Virginia. They are:
- Systena blanda
- Systena corni
- Systena elongata
- Systena frontalis
- Systena hudsonias
- Systena marginalis
While there have been some records of Systena species collected on garden plants or on Oak, in most cases members of this genus feed on weeds.
Systena blanda (pictured) is often found on Common Ragweed. Adults are most common in West Virginia in June, July, and August.
