Heuristic Inquiries in the PARHOST1

The PARHOST1 system permits analysing large amounts of data, in particular distribution patterns of the world’s flea fauna represented by 2000 species. The PARHOST1 system permits analysing distribution patterns and parasite-host relations of separate flea taxa and their interaction in various aspects.

Software of the PARHOST1 system permits constructing

  • tables of numerical and taxonomic composition of flea faunas in 40 zoogeographic regions of the world
  • indicis and dendrograms of fauna similarity in 40 regions
  • nomenclature and classifications of distribution types of fleas (based upon flea distribution in 40 zoogeographic regions of the world)
  • indices and tables of statics of types of parasite-host relations of flea taxa with mammmal and bird taxa
  • tables of number of host species related to fleas of certain taxa
  • tables of numbers of flea species related to a certain taxon of host in certain region

 

Analysis of Flea-Host Relations

PARHOST1 system permits conducting a consecutive analysis of parasite-host relations of any taxon of fleas and hosts beginning with analysis of the most general data on interaction of taxa of the highest rank. An opposite way of analysis beginning from analysis of relations of separate species is possible.

As result the system generates tables similarly to the one shown below. It shows relations of all flea families with lagomorphs.
